Entre a energia de Ginza e a pausa da contemplação, uma nova coleção da Caroline Duó está a caminho.
In our first post of the year, we meet with Nüssa founder Sandrine Sixtine. She tells us all about skincare oils, their extraordinary powers and benefits for the skin, and also talks to us about preconceived ideas: "an oil is greasy, it gives you pimples..."By the end of this article, you'll know all there is to know about oils. Let's get started!

While drinking water is the key to hydration (almost 60% of our body is made up of water), there's nothing like plant oils to nourish skin deep down, preventing sagging and wrinkles. It's important to remember that a cream moisturizes the upper layers of the epidermis, while an oil nourishes deep down.First and foremost, oils replenish the skin with fatty substances. They also compensate for dehydration by reconstituting the surface film that prevents water from evaporating, protecting and nourishing the epidermis all day long. This is often referred to as "regulating water loss". Oils therefore have a very specific action on the epidermis, acting like a real shield. The difference with cream, which remains on the surface, is the power of the active ingredients to penetrate the deeper layers of the epidermis. Vegetable oil brings nutrients to the skin that other skincare products cannot. In particular, vegetable oil acts deep down in the skin's layers, facilitating the diffusion of active ingredients. Unlike an aqueous formula (cream, emulsion, etc.) made up of 60% to 70% water, the active ingredients will be more stable and powerful in an oil than in a milk or cream. With use, skin becomes plumper as it is deeply nourished. It is re-densified and the quality of the texture is really improved. If you're looking to boost your skincare routine, oil is definitely the way to go!
It's a mistake to think that oils add an oily layer to the epidermis. This is not the case, unless of course you're using an oil that is too rich, unsuitable, comedogenic or unbalanced.A few drops are all it takes to nourish facial skin. The oil will penetrate the hydrolipidic cement. The skin will only take in what it needs (a bit like drinking). If you apply too much, it's normal for your skin to feel shiny, even after several minutes. It's very important to listen to your skin.At Nüssa, I attached particular importance to textures. The idea was to formulate Day and Night duos (as needs are different) and create synergy between active ingredients to multiply effects. Our daytime textures are very fine. They penetrate immediately and leave a super-velvety feel. Our night-time textures are a little thicker (although this does not mean they are greasy). The idea is to take a little time for yourself, and massage in the active ingredients to help them penetrate the skin and stimulate microcirculation. Massage is just as important as the application of a skincare product. At night, when the skin is at its most receptive and regenerating (it is not subject to external aggression).

A well-formulated, balanced oil will improve skin quality, regulating moisture and sebum (on the deeper layers), making it more supple and luminous.

Our oils are organic, 100% natural, chosen for their high quality, with no preservatives, just vitamin E (tocopherol) which is a wonderful antioxidant and acts as a preservative.
Our daytime range adapts to all skin types, including those of pregnant and breastfeeding women. Enriched with hyaluronic acid, ceramides and vitamin C, our ultra-clean formulas stimulate, hydrate and regenerate the skin.
